The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/5) is expected to trade in the range of ย 7,170 – 7,300 points to attempt higher with the support of bargain hunters.
Meanwhile, on Friday last week ย (2/3) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 135 points or 0.35% to 38,654 points, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed higher by 1.07% and 1.74%, respectively.
The US nonfarm payrolls expanded by 353,000 for the month, better than the Dow Jones estimate of 185,000. The unemployment rate held at 3.7%, against the estimate of 3.8%.
The yield of the 10-year ย US ย Treasury note shot up by 16 basis points to ย 4.02%, while the yield on theย 2-year Treasury bond climbed 17 ย basis points at 4.37%.
Friday, the WTI futures contract for March declined by 2.0% to USD72.28/barrel, mainly on worries of a continued strong USD Index, given the last job data in the US. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,668 vs. IDR15,775 the previous one.
