The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (7/8) is expected to trade between 6,600pt โ€“ 6,740pt ย to attempt higher and supported by bargain hunters. Upside of the JCI today might be restrained by movement of USDIDR and news stream on COVID-19 status in the capital city Jakarta, in particular.ย  The last positivity rate of new cases in Jakarta is at 13.7% the last record, or representing around 60-day high.

 

Yesterday (7/7), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 347 points or 1.1% to 31,385pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed higher by 1.5% and 2.3%, repsectively.ย  Meanwhile, ย the yield of the US 10-year Treasury note closed higher by 9bp to 3.004%. ย Yesterday saw another occurrence of yield inversion with the yield of the ย 2-year Note closed higher at 3.028% .

 

Yesterday, ย the WTIย  price closed higher by 4.3% to ย USD102.7/barrel, still mainly on supply fundamental supply-insufficiency also on the news of the 30-day halt of Russian export through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium that accounts ย for 1% of global supply . Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,986 ย vs. IDR15,015 the previous one.
