Morning,
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (30/1) is expected to be in the range of 6,085pt-6,140pt, likely to regain edge on unchanged FFR rates decision yesterday. Yesterday (29/1), Wall Street ended flat the DJIA closed higher by 12 points or 0.1% to 28,735pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed down by 3 points and higher by 5 points, respectively. The Federal Open Market Committee held the overnight benchmark rate in a range between 1.5% and 1.75%, as expected. In a statement, the Fed’s policymaking committee said the direction of rate policy is predicated on whether inflation can return to their 2% objective. The central bank also remarked the labor market remains “strong” while the economy is growing at a “moderate rate.”
Meanwhile, yesterday the WTI price settled at USD53.3/barrel or lower by 0.3% against the previous close. At the other end, USDIDR closed at IDR13,634 yesterday vs. IDR13,647 the previous close.
