The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/10) is expected to be in the range of ย 6,125pt โ 6,300pt likely to consolidate but be propped-up by stable USDIDR and the WTI close yesterday. ย Latest Jakartaโs COVID-19 new cases data have not been encouraging, and this might temporarily deter bargain hunters, we suspect. At the other end, sign of improving activities as seen in the 4Q20 domestic economic data is expected to give strong support to the JCI. ย We expect to upload Indonesia FY20 GDP review this week.
Meanwhile, yesterday (2/9) ย the DJIA closed lower ย by 10 ย points or by 0.03% to 31,376pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย ended lower by 0.11% and higher ย byย 0.14% , respectively.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price closed higher by 0.7% to USD58.4/barrel as compared ย to the previous close, mainly on hope for the US economic recovery as well as supply-curb compliance by OPEC+ members. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,000 ย vs. IDR14,000 the previous one.
