The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (6/4) is expected to be in the range of 6,050pt โ 6,150pt, likely to retreat and be supported by bargain hunters. ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (6/3), the DJIA closed lower by ย 23 points or 0.07% to 34,577pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended lower by 0.4% and by 1.0%, respectively.
Current trend of world commodity price, especially of oil, thermal coal, and CPO is expected to play the role of natural-hedged nature of the Indonesia to expedite recovery pace this year. ย An example is in the year 2011 during which time the economy posted GDP growth of 6.5% YoY , the highest in the decade. In 2011, the time of thermal coal price reached the level of USD122/tonne, multiplier effects ran through, eventually to stability of private consumption (1), growth in government expenditures (2), and ย to value added from export and import activities (3).
At the other end, yesterday ย ย the WTI price ended lower ย by 14 cents ย to USD68.7/barrel , mainly on the US crudes weekly data release of a decrease by 5.1mn barrels vs. a decline of 2.4mn barrels of consensus estimate. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,297 vs. IDR14,276 the previous one.
