ย The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (8/5) is expected to trade between 6,990pt โ€“7,120pt ย to attempt higher and supported by bargain hunters.

 

Today the JCI is expected to response on Indonesia GDP growth figure for the 2Q this year. Consensus-estimates polled by Reuters showed that the economy to grow by 5.13% YoY or higher as compared to the previous quarter of 5.02% YoY. The JCI should benefit from support, should the estimate materializes.

Meanwhile, yesterday (8/4) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by 86 points or 0.3% to 32,727pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed lower by 0.1% and higher by 0.4%, respectively.ย At the other end, the yield on the benchmarkย 10-year Treasury noteย fell by 5 basis points to 2.67%, as investors fear less of recession despite of prospect of higher interest rate.

 

Yesterday, ย the WTI price closed lower by 2.30% to ย USD88.5/barrel, mainly on both recession risks as well as additional output of 100k barrrels per day decided this week during the OPEC+ members meeting. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at ย IDR14,929 ย vs. IDR14,917 the previous one.
