The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (10/25) is expected to trade between 6,600pt – 6,720pt to attempt higher also by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, Friday last week (10/22) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 74.0pt ย or 0.2% to 35,677pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed lower by 0.1% and 0.8%, respectively.
The JCI today is expected to also welcome the permission for higher activity level , by improved COVID-19 pandemic indicators, in the capital city Jakarta. Current GDP forecast for3Q21 for the country, from a major institution is at 3.4%-4% YoY, while for the full year is at 4.0% or higher than consensus estimate of 3.8%YoY. Major condition assumed has been stable COVID-19 improvement signs.
At the other end, last week the WTI price ย closed ย higher by 1.5% USD83.8/barrrel , mainly on on supply worries with traders focused on the US crude stocks data release last week that showed a 31.2mn barrels level, the lowest since October 2018. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,162 vs. IDR14,133 the previous one.
