The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (8/1) in the morning session closed higher by 20 points or 0.3% to 6,971pt with total volume of IDR8.6tr.
This morning the JCI digested Indonesia July inflation data which is 4.94% YoY , or higher than market estimates of 4.82% YoY.ย The core inflation rate, which strips out government-controlled prices and volatile food prices, was roughly in line with expectations at 2.86% YoY (June: 2.63% YoY). The central bank Bank Indonesia puts more weight in the core inflation rate ย to to determine the pace of monetary tightening.
Yesterday (7/29), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 316 points or 1.0% to 32,850pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed higher by 1.4% and 1.9%, respectively. Meanwhile, the yield on the benchmarkย 10-year Treasury noteย slipped by about 2 basis points to 2.65%.
The WTI price closed lower by 0.7% to ย USD97.9/barrel within opening time today, as investors anticipate OPEC+ meeting this week for supply adjustment. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,860 vs. IDR15,020 the previous one.
