The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (1/27) is expected to trade between 6,820ptโ€“ 6,925pt to attempt higher supported by bargain hunters.

Yesterday (1/26) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 206 points or 0.6% to 33,950pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 1.1% and 1.8%, respectively.

The US gross domestic product rose at a 2.9% annualized pace in the fourth quarter, slightly better than expected. The figure triggered hopes that the US economy can experience a soft landing as the Federal Reserve hikes rates to tame inflation.

 

The 10-year US Treasury yield yesterday rose by 4 basis points at 3.502%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury was higher by 5 basis points at 4.191%.

 

Yesterday, the price of WTI closed higher by 1.1% at USD81.0/ barrel, mainly supported by the stronger-than-expected US GDP data for the 4Q. ย ย The USDIDR closed atย  IDR14,964 vs. IDR14,958 the previous one.
