The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/16) is expected to trade between 6,685ptโ€“ 6,800pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.

 

The JCI is expected to be supported by the stable rate of positivity of new COVID-19 cases in the capital city Jakarta, at 9.1%, representing a five-day in a row below the 10% level.ย  Also, the JCI is expected to be upheld by the countryโ€™s October figure on Indonesiaโ€™s external debt.

Yesterday (12/15), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by ย 764 points or 2.3% to 33,202pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 2.5% and 3.2%, respectively.

The 10-year US Treasury yield, yesterday fell by 5 basis points at 3.452%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury declined by 2 basis points at 4.232%.

 

Yesterday, the price of ย WTI crude closed lower by 2.3% at USD75.5 a barrel, mainly on the reversal of the USD Index from its 5-day low of 103.55pt. The USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,630 vs. IDR15,619 the previous one.
