The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/22) is expected to trade between 6,775ptโ€“ 6,910pt to gain an edge and be supported by bargain hunters.

The JCI is expected to respond today to the announcement of Indonesiaโ€™s central bank Bank Indonesia (BI) concerning the countryโ€™s latest stance on the economy and policy rate. BI is expected to give a media release after the completion of its 2-day December policy meeting.

 

Yesterday (12/21), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by ย 527 points or 1.6% to 33,377pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 1.5%.

The 10-year US Treasury yield, yesterday fell by 1 basis point at 3.68%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury dipped 5 basis points at 4.22%.

 

Yesterday, the price of ย WTI crude closed higher by 2.7% at USD78.3 a barrel, mainly on fear of supply restriction along with the release of the larger-than-expected latest draw in the US ย crude stockpile (-5.9mn barrels vs. estimated -1.7 mn barrels). ย The USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,601 vs. IDR15,608 the previous one.
