The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/22) is expected to trade in the range of ย 7,150 – 7,280 points to attempt higher with the support of bargain hunters.

 

Meanwhile, yesterday (12/21) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 322 points or 0.9% to 37,404 points, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed higher by 1.0% and 1.3%, respectively.

The third estimate of the US real gross domestic product came in lower than expected, at + 4.9% on an annual basis in the third quarter, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (vs. second estimate of +5.2% vs. the consensus estimate of 5.1%).

 

The yield of the 10-year ย US ย Treasury note was higher by 4 basis points to 3.89%, while the yield on theย 30-year Treasury bond gained 3 basis points to 4.032%.

 

Yesterday, the WTI futures contract for January closed lower by 0.4% at USD73.9/barrel, mainly being supported by supply cut commitment from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)+ ย along with the news that Angola said it would exit the group. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,533 vs. IDR15,512 the previous one.
