The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/8) is expected to trade in the range of 7,070 – 7,200 points to attempt higher with the support of bargain hunters.

 

Meanwhile, yesterday (12/7) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 63 points or 0.2% to 36,117 points, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed higher by 0.8% and 1.4% respectively.

The US initial jobless claims in the week ending December 2, the weekly data published by the US Department of Labor (DOL) ย on Thursday, pointed to a figure of 220,000 following the previous week’s print of 219,000 (revised from 218,000) and came in slightly better than the market expectation of 222,000.

 

The yield of the 10-year ย US ย Treasury Note was higher by 3 basis points to 4.144%, while the yield on theย 2-year Treasury bond was trading lower by 2 basis points to 4.586%.

 

Yesterday, the WTI futures closed lower by 4 cents or ย 0.1% at USD69.3/barrel, mainly on a consolidation phase after breaching the USD70 support level this week and for the first time since July 3. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,536 vs. IDR15,504 the previous one.
