Morning,

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (6/8) is expected to be in the range of 6,025pt – 6,125pt, likely to retreat  within the sideways supported by  bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday  (6/7), the DJIA closed lower by  126 points or 0.4% to 34,630pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended lower by 0.08% and higher by 0.5%, respectively.

Both the Unites States (US) and domestic equity market is at the cross-roads for different reasons, we note. The US on the clarity of tapering schedule ( the next FOMC is on June 15), and Indonesia on the pace of this year’s economic recovery. Stakeholders for domestic market is in monitor for sustainability COVID-19 management progress in Indonesia, which recently has reached meaningful improvement, amid new concern in the neighbours of Malaysia and Singapore.

At the other end, yesterday   the WTI price ended lower by  0.6%  to USD69.2/barrel , mainly on demand worries as China, the second world biggest economy, released year-low crude import data for May yesterday. Meanwhile, the USDIDR  closed  at IDR14,271 vs. IDR14,316 the previous one.
