Morning,
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/5) is expected to be in the range of 4,550pt-4,750pt, likely to gain strength to follow regional mood for investors’ ease on Covid-19 pandemic. Companies in the United States (US), Italy, and Australia have immediate plan to gradually resume businesses. In Indonesia, while downtrend in new cases is yet to be confirmed, death rate has confirmed a trend to have declined to c.6% (world average of c.5%) last week, as compared to as high as close to 10% in the month before. Meanwhile, the DJIA ended higher at 24,331pt or by 455 points or 1.9% while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 1.7% and 1.6% respectively, on Friday last week (8/5).
At the other end, Friday the WTI price closed higher by 5% at USD24.7/barrel , and the USDIDR appreciated at IDR15.009 vs. IDR15.127 the previous one.
