The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/30) is expected to trade between 6,560pt – 6,660pt to ย attempt higher also on the back of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (11/29), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 237pt or 0.7%, and the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite also closed higher by 1.3% and 1.9%, respectively.
The JCI today ย is expected to benefit from regional positive sentiment also as major indices in Asia opened in the firm green zone.ย Bond markets both in the country and in one of the Advanced Economies also seemed to be stablized.ย Market participants in the Jakarta financial market is expected still to be able to benefit from COVID-19 latest pandemic status in the country.
The positivity rates of new cases of COVID-19 virus in the capital city Jakarta ย pointed at 0.3%, by the latest data. This should support the JCI we reckon, despite the statement of the United States (US) central bank chairman Powell that the new variant might put downside risks to both inflation and employment in the US.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price ย closed higher by 2.6% to USD70.0/barrel ย mainly on technical rebound following the previous closeโs decline of 13% from demand worries from COVID-19 new variant attack. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,340 vs. IDR14,385the previous one.
