The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/5) is expected to be in the range of 5,050pt โ 5,250pt, be volatile and supported by sound financial and bank system.ย ย Against marke- consensus and our estimate, ย yesterday (11/4) the JCI reverse course in the afternoon session to close lower by ย 1.1% on the US election news of the possibility that incumbent president Trump to win the US presidential election.
Meanwhile, yesterday ย (11/4) the DJIA closed higher ย by ย 368 points or 1.3% to 27,848pt, while the ย S&P500 and the Nasdaq ended higher by ย 2.2% and 3.9%, respectively. ย By general vote count, rival and investor-friendly Biden is expected to win the US presidential election.ย Stakeholders yesterday put high hope to hear official announcement to the winner soon.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta stock market is also awaiting for the GDP 3Q20 growth rate, to be announced today at 11.00 in the morning. ย ย Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has been quoted to estimate the 3Q20 GDP growth figure to lie in the range of -1% to 0% QoQ. This estimate have factoring in a slight recovery of consumersโ consumption as well as investments, which ย have been the case, in our observe.ย Should the estimate be materialized, the JCI is expected to benefit, and vice versa.
