The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/14) is expected to trade between 6,880ptโ€“7,000pt to attempt higher and supported by bargain hunters.

 

Meanwhile, ย yesterdayย  (9/13) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 71 points or 0.2% to 34,576pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed higher by 0.1% and 0.30% respectively. ย ย The US core Consumer Price Index in August increased by 0.3% (July: 0.2%) and 4.3% (July: 4.7%), respectively, against estimates of 0.2% and 4.3%.

Federal Reserve officials focus more on the core as it provides a better indication of a longer-term view of inflation.

The Fed funds futures pricing data shows a roughly 48% (previously: 43%) probability that rates will rise at the November meeting.

 

The 10-year US Treasury yield was lower by 1 basis point to 4.256%. Also, theย 2-year Treasuryย yield fell 4 ย basis points to ย 4.98%.

 

Yesterday, the price of the WTI ย futures closed lower by 0.01% at USD88.6/barrel, as the latest data of the US crude inventories released yesterday (+4mn barrels vs. the consensus estimate of -1.9mn barrels) capped the price rally from the impact of the restricted-supply in the sector. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,367 vs. IDR15,352 ย the previous one.
