ย The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/23) is expected to trade between 6,770ptโ 6,900pt to hold ground and be supported by bargain hunters.
The JCI today is expected to join regional weak leads.ย Nevertheless, the latest Indonesia central bank Bank Indonesiaย (BI) move to increase the policy rate should lend support to the countryโs financial market today.
BI yesterday (12/22) announced to increase in the countryโs policy rate BI7DRR by 25 basis points to 5.5%, a total increase of 2 percentage points from 3.5% in July.
Yesterday (12/21), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by ย 349 points or 1.1% to 33,028pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 1.5% and 2.2%, respectively.
The 10-year US Treasury yield, yesterday closed almost unchanged at 3.68%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury rose 6 basis points at 4.276%.
Yesterday, the price of ย WTI crude closed lower by 1% at USD77.5a barrel, mainly on jitter from global tightening monetary policy.ย ย The USDIDR ย closed atย IDR15,594 vs. IDR15,61 the previous one.
