The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/26) is expected to trade between 6,750ptโ€“ 6,880pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.ย  ย The JCIโ€™s upside today is expected to be restrained by uncertainties from the flip-flop of the governmentโ€™s stance on the export regulations of its main commodities.

 

Friday last week (12/23), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by ย 176 points or 0.5% to 33,204pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 0.6% and 0.2%, respectively.

The figure for the US core personal consumption expenditures price index, which excludes food and energy prices, climbed 4.7% in November from the year-earlier period, while economists polled by Dow Jones expected a gain of 4.6%.ย  Month over month, the index advanced 0.2%, matching expectations.

On the other end, the US real GDP turned up in the third quarter, increasing by 3.2 % YoY (vs. the previous estimate of 2.9% YoY) after decreasing by 0.6% YoY in the second quarter.

The 10-year US Treasury yield, last week closed higher by 8 basis points at 3.751%, and the yield on the policy-sensitiveย 2-year Treasury rose 6 basis points at 4.327%.

 

Friday last week, the price of ย WTI crude closed higher by 2.5% at USD79.4 a barrel, mainly on supply fears along with the news that ย Moscow said it could cut crude output in response to the G7 price cap on Russian exports. ย ย The USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,605 vs. IDR15,594 the previous one.
