The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/27) is expected to trade between 6,840ptโ6,980pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.
Yesterday (4/26) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed lower by 229 points or 0.7% to 33,302pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.4% and higher by 0.5%, respectively.
The Conference Board of the US reported that its consumer confidence index fell to 101.3 in April from 104 in March. Itโs the third time in four months that the overall US consumer confidence has declined. ย Optimism about current economic conditions in the US ticked up again, although consumers are less positive about the short-term future.
Meanwhile, the 10-year US Treasury was trading higher by 4 basis points to 3.439%.ย The yield on theย 2-year Treasuryย was last down by 1 basis point atย 3.932%.
Yesterday, the price of WTI closed lower by 3.6% at USD74.3/ barrel, mainly triggered by concern over demand prospects along with the latest fall of the US consumer confidence.ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR14,822 vs. IDR14,855 the previous one.
