Headline Inflation at 0.17% Month-on-Month (MoM)

Indonesiaβs headline Consumer Price Index (CPI)Β for October this year was released at an MoM rate of Β 0.17% (September: 0.19%), and a Year-On-Year (YoY) rate of 2.56% (September: 2.28%). The annual October figure is lower than the consensus estimate of 2.65%, while the monthly figure is also lower than the consensus estimate of 0.26%. The annual inflation figure in October also provides an additional base to profile domestic private consumption since the government increased the price of subsidized fuel in September last year (in Chart 1).
