The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/15) is expected to be in the range of 5,900pt โ 6,100pt, also be supported by stable USDIDR and oil close. ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (12/14), the DJIA closed lower by 185 points or 0.6% to 29,862pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended lower byย 0.4% and higher by 0.5%, respectively. ย The United States (US) started its first round of ย shipment of ย 2.9mn doses of COVID-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer and BioNTech last weekend, the biggest mass vaccination campaign since polio. Yet new cases in the US and other major countries seem not to slow down, with United Kingdom started its tier-3 lockdown this week as well as Germany, until ย January 10 the earliest.
In Jakarta capital city Positivity Rates slightly increase to a 7-day average of 10.4% , higher compared ย to 8%-9% in the most recent preceeding weeks, however still lied within historical average of 10%-13% rates. The launch of vaccination program in Indonesia, with ย that of Chinaโs Sinovac Biotech Ltd that is now available, is expected to bring the virus spread better-controlled.
