The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/14) is expected to be in the range of 5,900pt โ 6,050pt, also be supported by stable USDIDR and oil close. ย Meanwhile, Friday last week ย (12/11), the DJIA closed higher by 47 points or 0.2% to 30,046ptpt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended lower byย 0.1% and 0.2%, respectively. The US will begin its COVID-19 ย vaccination program this week ย following the FDA approval of Pfizerโs last week.

The latest news indicated that the Indonesia Stock Exchange will have trading on December 28, 29, and 30, additional 3 (three) trading days to totalling 11 (eleven) trading days left in December.ย Observing the latest progress, with 11 (eleven) days left, it is possible by fundamental and technical standpoints for JCI to hover into slightly above the 6,000pt level within the year-end (please see report dated February 3 for reference). Many counters in the IDX universe are still trading below that of the weighted-average price- trailing earnings multiple , currently at 35.7x.
From technical view, the JCI is now at -6.5% over its year-to-date highest of 6,300pt early of the year, and +51.8% higher over its year-to-date lowest of 3,938 on March 24. ย These two benchmarks can be used as simple and rough way to say that the the level of slighlty over 6,000pt for the JCI is achievable until end of the year.
At the other end, last week ย the WTI price closed lower by ย 0.4% to USD46.6/barrel, being supported by the start of ย COVID-19 vaccinations program in the US, Canada, Britain within this week. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14.102 ย vs. IDR14.130 ย the previous one.
