The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/3) is expected to trade between 6,450pt – 6,550pt to stick around on the back of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (11/2) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 139pt ย or 0.4% to 36,053pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed higher by 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively. Yesterday , the yield of the 10-year Treasury note fell by 2.8bp, to reflect that market participants in the US somehow have factored in the schedule and magnitude of the bonds taper program, currently at USD120bn/month, and ย to be decided tonight by the US central bank.
The JCI today is expected to be volatile , as also indicated by relatively high increase of the yield of countryโs 10-year government bonds during yesterday close, by 12bp. Also, market jitter is reflected by the still weakening USDIDR, since October 7.
Meanwhile yesterday, the higher oil close could not support the JCI as expected, ย as fear of higher yield in the US dominated.
At the other end, yesterday the WTI price ย closed lower by 0.6% ย at ย USD83.6/barrel , mainly on a degree of uncertainties whether OPEC+ members decides to maintain or cut current production curb ahead of its meeting tomorrow (11/4). ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,261 vs. IDR14,235 the previous one.
