The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/3) is expected to trade between 6,780ptโ€“6,920pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters. ย The JCI is expected to respond to Indonesiaโ€™s inflation rate for the month of March today. Marchโ€™s inflation rate is expected to be seasonally higher to account for Ramadan month.

 

Friday last week,ย  (3/31) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 415 points or 1.3% to 33,274pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 1.4% and 1.7%, respectively. ย Theย core Personal Consumption Expenditures index, the more preferred indicator of the US central bank, for the month of February and excludes energy and food costs, rose 0.3% MoM, less than the 0.4% expected by economists polled by Dow Jones.

 

Meanwhile, the 10-year US Treasury yield declined by 5 basis points to 3.51%.ย  The yield on theย 2-year Treasuryย was last lower by 8 basis points to 4.09%.

Last week, the price of WTI closed higher by 1.8% at USD75.7/ barrel, mainly on supply concerns and higher USD Index as the US inflation continues to slow down. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed atย  IDR14,977 vs. IDR15,062 the previous one.
