The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/6) is expected to trade between 6,730pt–6,900pt to attempt higher and be supported by bargain hunters.

 Yesterday,  (4/5) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed by 80 points or 0.2% to 33,483pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed lower by 0.3% and 1.1%, respectively.

Private company payrolls in the US rose by just 145k units for March, down from an upwardly revised 261k  in February and below the Dow Jones estimate for 210k units.  During 1Q23, total hirings were at a monthly average of 175k units (4Q22: 216k units, 1Q22: 397k units).

Meanwhile, the 10-year US Treasury yield declined by 3 basis points to 3.309%.  The yield on the 2-year Treasury was trading lower by 3 basis points at 3.798%.

Yesterday, the price of WTI closed lower by 0.1% at USD80.6/ barrel, mainly on technical consolidation after a spike following plans by OPEC+ producers to reduce output, effective May.   Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at  IDR14,933 vs. IDR14,913 the previous one.
