The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (4/9) is expected to be in the range of 6,025pt โ 6,150pt, ย to fluctuate and be supported by bargain hunters ย Meanwhile, yesterday (4/8), the DJIA closed higher by ย 57 points or 0.2% to 33,504pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ended higher by 0.4% and 1.0%, respectively. ย Higher-than-estimated weekly first-time unemployment claims in the United States (US) also eased the 10-year US bonds yield, aside from the Fed chairman statement that the US economic recovery remains uneven and incomplete.
AstraZeneca (AZ) is one of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia, and development on the serumโs side-effect problems in other countries have been of unfavorable ones. The problems have been stated to have indirect impact to the countryโs vaccination program and linked also as one of the reason of ย weakening USIDR most recently.
In relation to the above lines, traders with shorter-term horizon might watch out counters that benefit from the weakening USIDR.ย Counters of export-oriented base, including those of mining can be of choice.
At the other end, yesterday ย the WTI price ended lower ย by ย 0.3% to USD59.8/barrel , mainly on weekly data release of the US gasoline inventories that increased by 4mn ย barrels, against the consensus expectation of a decline. To the contrary , crude stocks in the US ย fell more than forecast by analysts. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,580 vs. IDR14,533 the previous one.
