The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (8/19) is expected to trade between 7,140pt โ7,250pt ย to attempt higher and supported by bargain hunters. ย
Meanwhile, yesterday (8/18) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 19 points or 0.1% to 33,999pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 0.2%. The US jobless claims totaled 250,000 for the week ended Aug. 13, down 2,000 from the previous week and below the 260,000 Dow Jones estimate. In addition, the four-week moving average for claims, which helps smooth out weekly volatility, also fell by 2,750 to 246,750.
At the other end, the yield on the benchmarkย 10-year Treasury noteย fell 2 basis points at 2.88%, and the 2-year Treasury yield was down 8 basis points to 3.21%, continuing to be in a spread-inversion trend.
Yesterday, ย the WTI price closed higher by 3.4% to ย USD91.1/barrel, also on encouraging US lates job figures that imply higher demand.ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย atย IDR14,822 vs. IDR14,767 the previous one.
