The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/15) is expected to trade between 6,560pt – 6,680pt to ย stick around also on the back of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (12/14), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed lower by 107pt or 0.3% to 35,544pt, and the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite also closed lower by 0.8% and 1.1%, respectively. Release of November ย data of the US Producer Price Index for final demand, at 9.6% YoY , is higher than that of estimate of 9.2% (October: 8.6% YoY).
The JCI yesterday performed slightly worse-than-estimated while trading value amounted to IDR11.3tr or lower-than-the annual daily average of IDR13.5tr while foreign funds recorded a net Sell of relatively-low IDR263bn.ย Today the JCI is expected to also get support from the release of the countryโs November trade figure, widely estimated to continue on surplus by a quote of USD4.8bn (October: USD5.7bn).
At the other end, yesterday ย ย the WTI price ย closed lower by 0.8% to USD70.7/barrel ย , mainly mainly on Novemberโs higher-than-expected US PPI that is weighted heavy on demand for goods & services.ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,348 vs. IDR14,346 the previous one.
