Morning,

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/28) is expected to trade between 6,540pt – 6,620pt to be mostly in green also on the back of  bargain hunters.  Meanwhile, yesterday (12/27) in  Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 352pt or 1% to 36,302pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite also closed higher,  by 1.4%.   The United States (US) bond market was fairly stable with the yield of the benchmark 10-year Treasury note closed lower by 1.4bp to 1.479%. The overal vibes is positive also supported by the release of the US November’s Core PCE at and increase of 4.7% YoY (October: 4.1% YoY) , higher than the estimated 4.5% YoY.

 

The JCI today is expected to be fairly slow and narrow also in anticipation for the year end close. However, while trading value was slow yesterday, at IDR8.5tr, foreign inflow backed, total net Buy of IDR206bn ,while a net Sell in the regular market of IDR96.1bn. At the other end, COVID-19 pandemic indicator, in the capital city Jakarta tends to slightly increase. The range of record of daily positivity rates pointed to 0.1% – 0.6% during the last 7 (seven) days, versus previous weeks of between 0.2% – 0.4%.

 

At the other end, yesterday   the WTI price closed higher by 2.4% to USD75.6/barrel,  mainly on still supply uncertainties despite news of huge cancellations of flight by the US airlines.  Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed  at IDR14,225  vs. IDR14,219 the previous one.
