Morning,

ย The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (2/24) is expected to trade between 6,840pt – 6,955pt ย to hold ground ย and ย supported by ย bargain hunters. The JCI today is expected to be supported by improving and stable COVID-19 new cases rate especially in the Jakarta city, at 13.7% the latest data.

To a certain extent, Indonesia somehow benefits from the conflict of Russia and Ukraine (and the US), through in example of higher commodity prices. However, a fear of full-blown war is expected trigger selling pressures to the JCI. Yesterday, the yield of the benchmark 10-year Indonesia government bond closed lower by 2bp to 6.501% to reflect ย investorsโ€™ favor also on the countryโ€™s fixed income product.

In addition, the yield of 10-year US Treasury note closed higher by 4bp to 1.986% yesterday. ย The US holders of financial products seemed to flee the market at the moment of current higher riks.
