Morning,
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (23/1) is expected to be in the range of 6,195pt-6,275pt to likely to beat selling pressures, yet Bank Indonesia rates decision scheduled to be announced this afternoon may support, in our view. Consensus’ estimate call for the central bank to keep reference rate BI7D-RRR unchanged, at 5% this month. Yesterday (22/1), Wall Street ended flat with the DJIA closed down by 10 points or 0.1% to 29,186pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 0.1%.
Yesterday, the WTI price settled at USD56.7/barrel representing a decline of 2.8% against the previous close. At the other end, USDIDR closed at IDR13,678 yesterday vs. IDR13,658 previous close.
