The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (7/13) is expected to be in the range of 6,025pt – 6,150pt   to stick around in the sideways by support of bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (7/12) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 126 points or 0.4% to 34,996pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 0.4% and 0.2%, respectively.

The JCI was trading as expected yesterday to record a daily gain of 0.6% at 6,079pt and foreign accounts saw a net buy of relatively higher at IDR873bn. Various factors are credited to last day’s gain. Simply put, current uncertainties and depressed valuations in the JCI constituents create bargains, we reckon. Stakeholders for Indonesia stock market now is perceived to be in the best mode in a sense that stock-picking can be done in a reasonably relax manner.

At the other end, yesterday  the WTI price closed lower by 0.6% to USD74.1/barrel, mainly on news on the third wave COVID-19 surge in several countries, including Russia.    Meanwhile, last week the USDIDR  closed  at IDR14,486 vs. IDR14,548 the previous one.
