ย The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (7/26) is expected to trade between 6,790pt โ€“ 6,900pt ย to attempt higher and supported by bargain hunters. ย The JCI today is expected to be supported by higher commodity prices. At the other end,the yield of Indonesia reference 10-year government bonds was off its week-high of 7.503% to close at 7.442% yesterday, reflecting recession-fear factor.

 

Yesterday (7/25), Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 91 points or 0.3% to 31,990pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย closed higher by 0.1% and lower by ย 0.4%, respectively. ย At the other end, the yield of the US 10-year Treasury note rose ย by 3bp to close at 2.82%. The inversion between the 2-year and 10-year notes remained last week, with the yield of the 2-year US Treasury notes was up 4 bp at 3.03%.

 

ย Yesterday, ย the WTI price closed higher by 2.1% to ย USD96.7/barrel, mainly on the risk of higher USD Index.ย  The US Federal Reserveโ€™s two-day policy meeting, concluding on Wednesday, with economists broadly expecting a 75 bp hike to interest rates. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,992 ย vs. IDR15,024 the previous one.
