The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (6/16) is expected to be in the range of 6,035pt โ 6,150pt ย ย likely to retreat within the sideways andย be supported by ย bargain hunters.ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (6/15), the DJIA closed lower by ย 94 points or 0.3% to 34,300pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย ended lower by 0.2% and 0.7%, respectively.
Domestic economy currently face significant challengesto post higher-than-expected business recovery rates due ย competition of foreing funds (1) ย trending-up of COVID-19 new cases (2), and the in-flexibility for certain sectors to adjust business model during the new normal era (3).ย Given the situation, counters with relatively less debt across all sectors in the JCI should perfom better in terms of earnings than its heavily-leveraged counterparts, we reckon.
At the other end, yesterday ย ย the WTI price higher by 1.8% ย to USD72/barrel , mainly on supply worry as talk of nuclear project between Iran and the US seemed to be in a halt. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,244 vs. IDR14,222 the previous one.
