The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (6/30) is expected to be in the range of 5,885pt โ 6,000pt ย ย to stick around within the sideways also on bargain huntersโ support.ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (6/29), the DJIA closed higher by ย 9 points or 0.03% to 34,292pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq ย ย ended higher by 0.03% and 0.2%, respectively.
The JCI, while within the-estimated range, was trading better-than-expected yesterday, possibly supported by yhe continued thinly-narrowing yield differential between the US 10-year sovereign bonds. During the most recent days, Indonesia 10-year government bonds yield have been in a stable uptrend, while the US counter-part have been in a reversed-trend.
At the other end, new cases of COVID-19 in the benchmark capital city Jakarta now is at 36.1% or off its record-peak of 40.8% (6/26) of two previous records, or implying a โcontrollableโ state of pandemy management, we reckon. All-in-all, โnon-politizedโ health policies both in central and regional levels should move the country economic recovery pace this year on the previously- estimated level, we expect.
At the other end, yesterdayย ย the WTI price closed higher by 0.6% to USD73.3/barrel , mainly on the continued global demand recovery prospect, although in the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant in several countries. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,496 vs. IDR14,472 the previous one.
