The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/10) is expected to be in the range of 5,885pt โ 6,000pt, to gain edge also by bargain huntersโ support. ย Meanwhile, Friday last week (5/7), the DJIA closed higher by ย 229 points or 0.7% to 34,778pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended higher by 0.7% and 0.9%, respectively.
The JCI is expected to trade sidewaysย ahead of the last trading tomorrow (5/11) for public holiday until Friday (5/14). Traders in the Jakarta equity market may take benefit on the swing of the coal mining counters. Thermal coal price reached its month-high Friday last week at USD96/tonne, mainly on supply restrictions. Stakeholders may take opportunity of demand and supply adjustment lag time following declining sectorโs activities during before the COVID-19 period.
At the other end, last week ย the WTI price ended higher ย by ย 0.3% to USD64.9/barrel , being supported mainly by global recoveries as the US and Europe ease restrictions. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14,289 vs. IDR14,364 the previous one.
