The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/19) is expected to trade between 6,720pt โ€“ 6,840ptย  to hold groundย  by support of bargain hunters.

 

The JCI yesterday gained by 149pt or 2.2% mainly supported by retail domestic on the reversal of GOTO from its year low of IDR181 to close at IDR248 or by 24% while ranked 5th ย in terms of market capitalization in the IDX.ย  Total trading value of stocks in all board was IDR17.4tr (vs.daily average of IDR15.8tr) and foreing funds recorded a net sell of total IDR281bn.

 

Wall Street yesterday (5/18) ย ย ended with the DJIA closed lower by 1,165pt or 3.6% to 31,490pt, meanwhile the S&P500 and Nasdaq closed lower by 4.0% and 4.7%, respectively. At the other end, the yield of the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes closed lower ย by 9bp at 2.9% yesterday.

 

Yesterday the WTIย  price closed lower by 2.2% ย at ย USD109.9/barrel against the previous close, mainly on demand worries as well as higher USD index . ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,682ย  vs. IDR14,651 ย the previous one.
