The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/25) is expected to be in the range of 5,725pt โ 5,850pt, likely to gain edge also by support of bargain hunters. ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (5/24), the DJIA closed higher by ย 186 points or 0.5% to 34,394pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended higher by 1.0% and 0.5%, respectively.
The US equity market responded positively on the latest data of COVID-19 cases along with the smooth vaccination program in the country. Around 49% of total US population has received the first phase of vaccine (Indonesia: 8.2%) , while 39% of the people are fully vaccinated (Indonesia: 5.5%).
At the other end, ย yesterday ย ย the WTI price ended higher by ย 3.7% to USD63.6/barrel , mainly as prospect higher demand from the re-opening economy in the US outweight the additional supply from the lift of Iran sanction. ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,362 vs. IDR14,375the previous one.
