The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (11/12) is expected to be in the range of 5,450pt โ 5,600pt, to have a hike although limited, also by support of bargain hunters.
Meanwhile, yesterday ย (11/11) the DJIA closed lower ย by ย 23 points or 0.08% to 29,398pt, while the ย S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended higher by 0.8%, and 2.0%, respectively. ย The latter indices underwent technical reverse from the previous dayโs decline, while the DJIA was on a general consolidation.ย Another encouraging COVID-19 ย vaccine news supoorted Wall Street, that of from Moderna with its product passed the late crucial stage.

Yesterday saw net a ย foreign inflow of IDR2.0tr, bringing total accumulated journal to IDR42.1tr compared to that of in October 27 of IDR47.4tr (please refer to market note dated 10/27), a positive development. We relate the development to several factors as (1) the countryโs attractive yield differential, (2) ย banks and financial system that is expected to be able to absorb short-term false news and or blows, (3) and the 3Q20 GDP figure data that showed a meaningful 3Q20 QoQ improvement at +5.05% versus -4.19% in 2Q20 . However, most important, Sunday (11/8) data of 7-days average of new cases of COVID-19 in capital city Jakarta has improved to 9.1% as compared to 9.9% in the previous weeks and to 11%-13% in the preceeding weeks.
At the other end, yesterday ย (11/11) the WTI price closed higher ย by ย 0.2% at USD41.5/barrel on weekly inventory data that declined by 5.1mn barrels, or significantly higher-than-consensus estimated at 0.9mn barrels. ย ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closedย at IDR14.076 ย vs. IDR14.015 ย the previous one.
