The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (10/4) is expected to trade between 6,185pt – 6,300pt to attempt higher also by support of ย bargain hunters. Meanwhile, Friday last week ย (10/1) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 483pt or 1.2% to 34,327pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ย closed higher by 1.2% and 0.8%, respectively. The yield on the US 10-year Treasury Notes decreased sharply in a day trading last week indicating the impact of persistent US inflation rates.
The JCI today is expected to generally join the positive regional vibes, also to acknowledge the countryโs improved spot of COVID-19 pandemic management. This should help heal domestic stock market that has been partly hurt by Septemberโs monthly deflation of 0.04% (vs. consensus inflation rate of 0.01% MoM) on Friday.
At the other end, last week the WTI price ย closed higher by 0.9% to ย USD75.7/barrel, mainly being supported by ย supply fear ahead of OPEC+ member meeting today to decide additional output (currently at 400k bpd effective November). ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,315 ย vs. IDR14,321 the previous one.
