The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (10/8) is expected to be in the range of 4,950pt โ 5,125pt, by an attempt to trend higher with support of bargain hunters.ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (10/7) the DJIA closed higher by ย 531 points or 1.9% to 28,304pt, while S&P500 and the Nasdaq both jumped ย by ย 1.7% and 1.9%, respectively.
Members on labors union in the country is expected to end its 3-days scheduled protests today for the ratification ย on another perceived-as controversial new law on Labor management (Undang Undang Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja) that governs new approach in handling domestic and foreign workers. ย In a track record of unfavorable events that arisen due to an unbalanced power between general demand of domestic labors versus that of supply, mass upset on this matter is fully understood, in our note. Furthermore, flexibility on foreign workers management in the new Labor law is likely ย to delay process of the improvement of domestic laborsโ skill and sophistication, through lower or lost opportunities and eventually through absent of regional control and income omissions. ย The latter gives question to Parliament and government ย who seem to be willing to pay at all costs for wealth, while being a nation of Faith.
