The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (29/9) is expected to be within the range of 4,875pt โ 5,000pt, for another attempt to maintain gain by support of stable USDIDR and oil close. ย Meanwhile, yesterday (28/9) the DJIA closed higher by ย 359 ย points or 1.5% to 27,584pt, while S&P500 and the Nasdaq both increased by ย 1.6% and 1.9%, respectively.

Downward trend on Positivity Rate (PR) of daily new COVID-19 cases in Jakarta city has been visible, based on 3 (three) consecutive weeks of ย 7-days average calculations that yielded PR of 12.8%, 12.0%, and 11.3% for the week ended September 27, respectively.
This is an encouraging latest trend since the re-tightening of PSBB (large scale social distancing) or PSBB part II that officially started in September 14 that ended this month. During the time, compliances enforcement and sanction have been reported being intensified. A direct observations ย for an area in the normally weekend- vibrant-and- packed Kemang South Jakarta for example, stated an ย unusual quite view in the last 2 (two) weekends.
While it is too early to tell, hope for another downward trends is not impossible, as stakeholders are highly aware of the importance to get the COVID-19 virus spread be managed, in our note.
The regional government has extended the PSBB-II for another 2 weeks to end mid October.
