The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (30/9) is expected to be within the range of 4,825pt โ 4,950pt, to be volatile but supported by bargain hunters and stable USDIDR close. ย ย Meanwhile, yesterday (29/9) the DJIA closed lower by ย 131 ย points or 0.5% to 27,453pt, while S&P500 and the Nasdaq both dipped by ย 0.5% and 0.3%, respectively.

Chaos or more demonstrations in the US due to the upcoming presidential elections and ย ย or other causes is expected to shift investments from stocks to safer investments and or outside the country.ย Higher yield in Indonesia might again appeal foreign funds including that of the US.
Based on reference the Economist publication, financiers neither strongly-backed either presidential candidates. In 2016 the financiers in Wall Street ย provided USD130mn to political campaigns, or 1.4% of the total raised as compared to 0.5% so far this cycle. Strikingly, many appear to be sitting 2020 out; around a fifth of those who gave meaningfully in the last election have given nothing in 2020.ย This implies slightly higher emphasize is put to the peaceful execution of the election as opposed to policies impact of each presidential candidate, in our note.
