The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (9/29) is expected to trade between 7,010pt โ€“7,170ptย  to attempt higher and is supported by bargain hunters.ย  The JCI is expected to be volatile given the dynamic of responses to the latest (9/21) tightening policy in the US to other countries worldwide.

 

Meanwhile, yesterday ย (9/28) Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 549 points or 2.0% to 29,684pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq closed higher by 2.0% and 2.1%, respectively.

 

On the other end, the yield on the benchmarkย 10-year Treasury noteย fell by 25basis points to close at 3.71% yesterday. The 2-year Treasury declined by 25 basis points to 4.09% while continuing to be in the inversion trend to its 10-year counterpart.

 

Yesterday, the price of ย WTI for the October contract closed higher by 4.7% at ย USD82.2/barrel, mainly on supply constraints along with the news of the impact of typhoon Hurricane Ian in the US Gulf of Mexico. Around 190k barrels per day of oil production, or 11% of the Gulfโ€™s total, was shut in due to the hurricane according to US government figures.ย  ย Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed atย  IDR15,243 vs. IDR15,155 the previous one.
