The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/27) is expected to be in the range of 5,750pt โ 5,900pt, likely to gain edge also by support of bargain hunters. ย Meanwhile, yesterday ย (5/26), the DJIA closed higher by ย 11 points or 0.03% to 34,323pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both ended higher by 0.2% and 0.6%, respectively.
The central bank Bank Indonesia, in its May meeting decided to keep the reference rates unchanged at 3.5%, as widely expected. Higher-than-expected pace of economic recovery in other major countries are well-accomodated, among others, by higher global commodity price, as implied from the published excerpt. BI maintains its economic forecast this year at 4.1% – 5.1% YoY.
At the other end, ย yesterday ย ย the WTI price ended higher by ย 3.7% to USD66.2/barrel , mainly on the decline of the US crude inventories while the economic recovery pace this year is in-tact. Meanwhile, the USDIDR ย closed ย at IDR14,335 vs. IDR14,362 the previous one.
