The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (5/25) is expected to trade between 6,840pt โ€“ 6,980ptย  to attempt higher by support of bargain hunters.

 

ย ย In-line with consensus estimate, ย Indonesia central bank Bank Indonesia (BI) keeps its BI7D-RR unchanged at 3.5% during its May policy stance meeting yesterday.ย  At the other end, BI has started to accelerate its policy normalisation through increasing banks reserve requirments by 100bp to 6% effective June, to 7.5%effective July, and 9%ย  in September. BI also introduced policies to trigger optimum growth of different sectors in the economy.

 

Wall Street yesterday (5/24), ended with the DJIA closed higher by 48pt or 0.2% to 31,929pt, meanwhile the S&P500 and Nasdaq closed lower by 0.8% and 2.4%, respectively. In-line with the equity market, the yield of the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes closed lower by 10bp at 2.76% yesterday .

 

Yesterday ย the WTIย  price closed lower by 0.47% to ย USD109.7/barrel, also being supported by news that the US administration had not ruled out to use export restriction from the country.ย  Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed ย at IDR14,653ย  vs. IDR14,665 the previous one.
