The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (8/24) is expected to trade between 5,985pt – 6,200pt likely to stick around in the green zone while being supported by bargain hunters. Meanwhile, yesterday (8/23) ย Wall Street ended with the DJIA closed higher by 216 points or 0.6% to 35,336pt, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq both closed higher by 0.9% and 1.6%, respectively. Both the news of new vaccineโs approval in the US and zero new cases of COVID-19 in China seemed to lessen the uncertainties concerning the timing of the Fedโs ย tapering, we reckon. Stakeholders is in monitor for clues during the Jackson Hole symposium in the US this week.
The JCI was trading as expected yesterday and the foreign funds recorded a ย net buy of IDR2.2bn. The central government announced meaningful easings for the countryโs main provinces for the latest PPKM ( public activities restrictions), and this trigerred positive sentiments for domestic financial market.
