The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) today (12/15) is expected to trade in the range of 7,120 – 7,260 points to attempt higher with the support of bargain hunters. ย The JCI today is expected to respond to Indonesiaโs trade data for November, widely expected to be in a net surplus but at a lower amount compared to Octoberโs of USD3.48bn.
Meanwhile, yesterday (12/14) on Wall Street, the DJIA closed higher by 158 points or 0.4% to 37,248 points, while the S&P500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed higher by 0.3% and 0.2%, respectively. The US November retail sales data came in stronger than expected yesterday.
The yield of the 10-year ย US ย Treasury Note was down by 11 basis points to 3.922%, while the yield on theย 2-year Treasury bond was last traded lower by 9 basis points to 4.39%. The yield of the 2-year bond had fallen by as many as 25 basis points earlier in the day.
Yesterday, the WTI futures contract for January gained to close by 3.04% at USD71.6/barrel, also being supported by demand prospects along with the latest demand upward revision by the US International Energy Agency. Meanwhile, the USDIDR closed at IDR15,493 vs. IDR15,614 the previous one.
